Speak Life.
40 Some of the people therefore, when they heard these words, were saying, “This certainly is the Prophet.” 41 Others were saying, “This is the Christ.” Still others were saying, “Surely the Christ is not going to come from Galilee, is He? 42 “Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?” 43 So a division occurred in the crowd because of Him. 44 Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him. 45 The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?” 46 The officers answered, “Never has a man spoken the way this man speaks.”
John 7:40-46
1. Jesus Spoke With Grace.
45 For the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart.
Luke 6:45
14 That the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be to Your pleasure, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14
2. Jesus Was Positive When He Spoke.
28 “Come to Me all who are weary and carry heavy loads, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
29 Put on My yoke. Let me teach you, because I am humble and tender of heart, and you will find rest for the soul. For My yoke is easy to bear and the burden that I give you is light.
Matthew 11:29
33 Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, which will have its own cares. Each day already has its own problems.
Matthew 6:33-34
20 I assure you that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you will be able to say to this mountain: "Move from here to there," and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.
Matthew 17:20
27 I leave you a gift: peace of mind and heart. And the peace that I give is a gift that the world cannot give. So do not be distressed or afraid.
John 14:27
14 You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15 I no longer call them slaves, because the master does not entrust His affairs to slaves. You are now My friends, because I have told you everything the Father told Me. 16 You didn't choose Me, I chose you.
John 15:14-16
3. Jesus Spoke Words To Build Up.
7 The human being can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and fish, 8 but no one can tame the tongue. It is evil and tireless, full of deadly poison. 9 Sometimes he praises our Lord and Father, and other times he curses those whom God created in his own image. 10 And so the blessing and the curse come out of the same mouth. Certainly, my brothers, that is not right! 11 Can sweet water and bitter water flow from the same spring?
James 3:7-11
29 Avoid all obscene conversation. On the contrary, may your words contribute to the necessary edification and be a blessing to those who listen.
Ephesians 4:29
